So I spoke with Jon a few days ago about a few things.

1. We're a week or so out from the 2nd phase of testing an actual prototype. This means there may be a working model available to ship by end of July or so.

2. I asked about a group buy discount if there was enough interest but apparently he sells through vendors too and has to keep the pricing fair. Pre-ordering the light however will net some type of discount (somethibg like $10 bucks)

The wait continues.... Will keep you guys posted.

I am in for one the moment they are released

Its a complete rear light replacement.
the reason the process takes awhile is because he actually has to make sure the mold that he draws matches the fitment of the bike - then the panel is custom made to the mold with the new LED circuitry and then once that all works out he starts to produce them on a bigger scale.

I was hoping the look of the taillight would change (something like the rizoma but more LEDs and much brighter). Unfortunately it will be the same taillight look as the stocker but the lights themselves will be largely brighter (he told me running brightness will be about the same as when the brake is applied on the stock one now and when the brake is applied on the new unit it will singe the drivers eyeballs out behind you :) ).

Wow that sounds awesome! Cant wait to see the final product.

just a new update - spoke with Jon today and the prototype is in. I'll hopefully have before and after photos by end of the week if he's ok with me posting them.

Stay tuned...

Also interested in a potential group buy, if that happens. Looks great BTW.
Unfortunately he partners with other vendors so a group buy is not in the cards. However you can pre-order at a discounted price when it becomes available.

toggle switch makes the taillight go absolutely bizerk - it's for shows/if someone is tailgating you it will get their attention real quick if you're not happy. Switching it back makes the taillight go back to the normal run mode.

What i didnt know is that the taillight is completely programmable - there are 6 different brake light options - you can even customize what it looks like when you start the bike.

More about there here:

My friend was riding behind me as i followed him to his house - he said the taillight was ridiculously bright.

I'm trying to upload the videos here but to be honest - the difference in light is so extreme that the entire video looks like crap.

The prototype right now is a green circuit board (it will be black when production model comes in) and the wires were too short so he'll have to change the production model to make it longer too - he also told me that the steel mold that they made at the factory is wrong - so they have to make it again.

He unfortunately doesn't have an ETA on when this will be ready - he's all in from a cash perspective and will start taking pre-orders in a day or two but the ETA is still out on when it will be ready.

here is a link for the pre-order

I have to say i was blown away by the brightness and the quality is top notch - on top of that Jon is a really nice guy / super professional and runs the whole business out of his house. He's gone through every detail on this to make sure the light is as easy as possible to install.

It'll be worth the wait. I had 1 guy pull up to me tonight to ask what light I had because it was blinding haha.
