So the Canadian Yamaha site calls it "Reddish Yellow" and there's still no mention on the US Yamaha site... post your pics of the yellow beauty here!

Wat this answered? I like the looks of that screen too. What windscreen is that? That's the first I've seen I liked the looks of, most of them look goofy because of how they're spaced away from the headlight

Lets post up some picks with the rim stripes !!Thanks Abe. Just ordered them. It's great to see your bike and how they look on a yellow FZ beforehand.
Hey man, did you do a new suspension or did you adjust the factory? I would like to stiffen the front forks up but im not real sure how to go about it.Dialed in the suspension a bit more and went for a coastal ride

Humm...but going back and looking at the photos (post #74) that screen looks flat across the top, whereas the Puig website seems to have more of a curve. But thanks for the answer. It's the Puig Sport screen.
I just adjusted the stock more. I honestly have no major issue with the stock suspension as is for the kind of riding I do these days. I do have stiffer front fork springs and some weighted oil laying around to reduce the brake dive, but I haven't done it yet. Suspension settings vary greatly on riding style, weight, personal preference etc. Making the adjustments isn't that difficult, on this bike i would recommend starting close to full stiff, and adding a notch of preload to the rear. From there adjust to you liking. look for a balance between stiff which will give better feedback and corner performance with soft which gives you more comfort by doesn't "seesaw" or "pogo" the bike. Preload on the rear will help reduce acceleration squat which in turn will reduce the pogo effect. The owners manual will tell you more also. All you need is a flat head, metric set of wrenches and the rear preload adjustment tool in your toolkit which came with the bike.Hey man, did you do a new suspension or did you adjust the factory? That's a really good look. I have to tell all you Cad Yellow owners, I had a Yamaha dirt bike (DT 250) when I was I senior in high school. Sold it, and nothing grabbed me until I saw a GS1000SZ Katana, and bought it from a friend in college. Sold it, and nothing grabbed me until I saw a Yamaha FJ1100, and bought it used. Had it a good long while, loved it, then sold it, and nothing grabbed me until the Hayabusa came out. Still have it, but it's really not much of a commuter. Still, 2 out of those four made it into the Guggenheim 'Art of the Motorcycle' show, so I'm figuring my eye for bikes has been somewhat validated. Time for another Yamaha, and I have to say I haven't obsessed over a bike like I'm obsessing over the FZ09 in quite a while. LOVED my test ride, want one, but I'm about $100/m shy of getting it. And I think I'd only get it in black and yellow (not sure I'd have enjoyed the test ride as much in a different color). What a friggin gorgeous machine! I hope to have one soon. In envy of you owners...Thanks and here you go.... Ebay $14.95 shipped .. you can put up to 4 stripes per side per wheel so you will have some left over if you use only 3 like I did .and about any color you can think of.. also fast shipping ! DT 250! Had some fun times on my friends DT 250 back in the day. Yamaha fact, their official colors used to be black, yellow, and white (that's why their anniversary editions for example are black yellow and white) which they changed after Suzuki began using yellow on their motocross bikes. I love the cadmium yellow paint they use on their bikes, Yamaha has nice paint jobs, second only to Harley paint. That's a really good look. *edit: Come to think of it, my 1977 Yamaha DT 250 was black and yellow, and I may be flashing back a fair bit: View attachment 17029
