TSB Confirmed! Just called the dealer, My VIN is part of the Bulletin (Not surprised as the nose has been present for quite some time, although able to be adjusted out most of the time).

Will report back when they get the parts in next week.

From looking at the bulletin there seems to be an extra digit in the vin numbers? Assuming there is an extra 0 on the left hand side it is but a matter of time for mine to need replacing.

Where are you finding this bulletin?

Got mine done last week. Bike sounds pretty good now. Small tick when starting and goes away. They said I didn't really need it but did it anyway

I live down the road from you, where are you going to bring yours? Shoot me a message if possible.

Just got my FZ back from the dealer for a throttle body sync. They performed the tensioner TSB while it was there also. Just some minor ticking on start up for now at least. I guess time will tell.

A word of advice. If you want a warranty claim, don't **** with the part yourself.

is there any way to check to see online, by typing in the vin of the bike, if there is a current recall on it for a particular part? I have no problems, fingers crossed, just curious.

Got the cct done by the dealer. After the work, I notice the color dot is rear facing. In all the pictures, the color dot is faces the front. Does it matter?
Still getting some ticking noise. It comes and goes. Pretty frustrating.

From other pictures the internal is same regardless of the color dot facing front or rear. I guess it doesn't matter.

Hi all,

Hope you can help. I've just bought a high km (61km) 2014 Mt-09. It had a rattle so I assumed it was the CCT since that's so common. It turns out that it wasn't the issue (got it changed over to the latest revision CCT this morning). Turns out the guys there knew the bike and the noise started after a wheelie. They replaced some parts of the clutch (not sure which bits) but that didn't fix the noise. Apparently they suggested stripping the engine down more but instead the guy decided to sell it... hmmm.

I've taken a video:

It actually seems to be the same noise as:

Any ideas? The noise remains once warmed up and clutch in or out makes no difference.

EDIT: Holy crap:

Noise is exactly what I have at the start. Could it be that the dealership just didn't adjust/tighten it correctly?

On that note: Make sure the fueling/pump station has individual hoses and nozzles; not just one hose and nozzle for 3 different grades of fuel. With a single nozzle and hose, when you go to pump premium you are going to get about a gallon of whatever the last person got and that's more than likely going to be standard/low grade fuel. On a single hose station whatever is in the hose from the nozzle down to the pump is gonna be full of the previous fuel. In a cage with a 12-15 or more gallon tank you will probably not notice but in a motorcycle you will - especially one with only a 3.7 gallon tank.
Very good point, I had never thought of that. Thank you !

Most bikes have a slight tick. Nothing to worry about. Unless it gets very loud. Also use low lead fuel when refilling.
Read back through all 1253 posts prior to yours and you’ll see that the CCT’s were a significant issue in many 2014-15 models. There was nothing ‘normal’ about it and he was right to suspect the CCT initially.
