My hands go numb after 10 minutes if I'm going at a steady speed in the 4k-5k rpm range. On the fwy at 65-75 my hands will go numb. If I go to 80 everything is ok.I just installed the arrow bar end mirrors with the rhino bar ends recently and their was no change. I think the Rhino's are a little lighter than stock. Anyone else have a cure for this problem?

Quit supporting your weight with your hands. .... THAT is why most of you get numb hands. Use your abs to support your torso. The bike WILL thank you.....

I have Fasst Company inserts, just be careful tightening them down, they tend to pull towards the bolt and the rubber will start protruding out the bar ends. I do not have weights because of my Zeta Handguards. Do they work? Who knows.

I've been struggling with this for a little while now, my hands go numb and i have to stop every 30 min even when i move hands around etc...
This is Since I put the Storm handguards on. I'm wondering if they have bar ends with weight like factory one. I love the wind protection and look of the storm and feel a bike is missing something without them (dirt biker) In spring with my thick gloves it was less apparent.
The bar ends from yamaha are heavy compared to the Storm ones.
I bought the bar snake (the liquid one wasn't available), and it just won't work with the large protrusion in the stock bars.
Last week my mechanic put some sand in...I can't feel a real difference.
Dropped the bike on trailer last week so i need new handlebars : Luckily, M4 only slightly scratched, a little trailer white paint on tank (will come off no dent), the OES frame sliders paid for themselves!
(, we will try sand in it before install of new bars (mechanic must drill a 16 mm hole on each side).
I really want to handle this as the bike is so cool now with decent seat, M4 and all the other mods...

Welcome to the vibration club. I've had the issue since day 1 when riding on the street. WOT on the track isn't an issue...seems to be a bit smoother for me in the upper revs. But cruising around 5500 RPM numbs my right hand. It did it with the stock bars and the clubmans.

I'm making progress, but it's not 'right' yet. I am running a set of Motovation bar end weights, CRG bar end mirrors, and Pro Grips. I have material coming this week to beef up the bar end mirrors to try more weight. Chronicled, of course, in the link in my signature.

I attempted to install Barsnake in the stock bars. Didn't work for me.
Probably best to look at the other alternatives suggested here.

I find the vibes to be much less than any other bike I've owned, but still there. I've been thinking of filling the stock bar with sand, but I have a question for those who have changed the bars. Are the control index holes all the way through the bar? I don't really want to leak sand. LOL...

The stock bar holes are all the way through. My Renthal Fat Bars have plastic plugs inside the bars in case anyone is wondering about those. They can be removed but I am sure it would take some time to get at them.

Back in the day we filled our bars with BB's. My FZ09 is way smoother than the R1 i had or the GSXR before it.

You can make proper vibration dampers out of basic bar ends by putting a longer screw through them and using a heavy spacer.
I replaced my bars with ones that did not allow the standard bar ends to fit,and found the vibration was worse,so I bought some cheap bar ends that were too light to damp much vibration.I replaced the 50mm screw for a 160mm screw and made a spacer out of lead sheet. You could use several fishing sinkers with the holes drilled out.

I fill it with silicon and put 6'' metal bar at the end, i will see later if it help, simple and cheap, i have a warrior before and on the rswarrior forum, many do this and it reduce lots of vibrations!

I have a simpler solution. Grip puppies. They are a soft foam that slips over your grip.

The really help if you can get used to Harley size grips.

For me the bigger diameter caused the arthritis in my thumb to ache so I went back to stock grips, but they really reduced the vibration and jarring in your hands over the bigger bumps.

I have Renthal Fatbars coming this week and was wondering what to use to tone down the vibes. That Faast Co. dampenenr looks REALLY interesting, better than pouring rubber goop into bars that I may not want to keep if the position isn't good. I'll post a review/pics when I get done.

Stock bar ends can be installed in any handlebar. All you need is a tap and they are not that expensive. Maybe $10-12 off ebay. Stock bar ends dampen vibes pretty good. If that is not enough dampening then you can consider other things like filling the handlebars.

Just so you understand what is going on: handlebars have a resonant frequency just like a tuning fork and you can change that frequency by adding bar end weights of different weights and by filling the bar in the same way a water glass will resonate at a different tone/frequency depending on how much water you put in the glass.

Also if vibrations are getting to you, you may consider adjusting your grip, adjusting the angle of the handlebars, adjusting your riding posture, adjusting how you weight the pegs and many other things that change how much weight is on your hands. Good gloves do wonders as well.

I have try progrips 699, dont like it, too small in diameter and no change in vibrations, the rubber is to smooth, when ride for a long ride or install a throttle paddle, the soft rubber contact the bar end and amplifie vibrations, i put the grip puppy, too large for me and i dont find it reduce the vibrations. After search on many others forums, i find exactly what i want, oury grips, install it today and ride for a long time and WOW, really WOW very very confortable, it cut vibrations to 90% and not ugly if you put the oury logo under ;-)

I had a ktm 640 SM paint shaker for about 18months and 25,000ks. It made my eyeballs vibrate, but was so much fun I didn't care.

The MT09 has a bit of vibes around 6000rpm ( this is the only time my right hand mirror shakes), but I just avoid sitting around those 500 or so rpms. Not a big enough issue for me to try and solve, but to each their own.

I kind of know what they are talking about. At 125 Km/h there is a distinctive vibe that cuts through the bars, causing some issues. At 115 Km/h it's not there... so either lower your speed (yeah, right!) or it's time to change sprockets or add some bar weight. I chose the cheaper of those options... since our speed limit is only 110 Km/h. ;)
