I spent the last week up north in Redding CA working with Nathan at NDC Customz on the design of the new FZ09 parts. Quite a few long days in the shop to get everything done in time but the products turned out AMAZING!

Broke down the rear end to get the first revisions of the mock up for the dual rear caliper bracket.

While the rear wheel was off and Nate was writing the programing I had some time to install the Vortex 54T rear sprocket and Vortex V3 520 Chain

It was also time to put on a tire that was a little more street/freestyle oriented. Bridgestone S20 180

NDC's beautiful work in progress

Test fitting went smooth as butter.

Now to add some calipers and check the offsets. Nailed it.

Brake lines routed and bled and off for a test ride.

And yes these will be available to everyone soon at NDCustomz.com

When having to make a modification that adds weight I try to make sure that it is adding as little as possible. NDC and I worked together on making some products that did just that. With the industry standard of the sub cages and footplates being steel for the most part we came up with some great strong yet rather light weight kick ass parts. To clarify when I say we I mean he worked like a mad man drawing the designs with my input :)

For freestyle use the OEM passenger pegs would be too flimsy and far forward for me to use. We found some great mount holes to located off of further up in the subframe and started to base the desired footing position from there.

With the left and right using the same mounting points Nathan measured the distances between the brackets to make a cross brace.

With the test fitting done and a success on both the foot peg brackets and cross brace it was time to bolt everything up. This sub cage turned out a perfect 10 in my eyes. The only modification that will be made from this point is a little added length to the foot pegs and some anodizing!

now this is how you MOD a bike! not just strapping on a bunch of aftermarket pieces that every other FZ will have.

Kudos to Mr. Colton, keep it up :)
Oh ...that hurts!
And I thought my bike was special ...w/mods strapped.
Oh well ...just one of the ordinary gang, I guess.

Very nice work, Colton!

Aaron,

Have you actually tried that Acerbis light at night on the road? I love the look of that light but it looks in the pics like the LED's are pointing straight down.

I'm thinking of getting one for my FZ and then replacing the main two LED's with stronger output units, but need to know if you can adjust the angle of the LED's.

Great build man, I'm changing alot of my build plans just by reading your thread. You have picked up some new fans from this thread!!

Aaron,

you will run an R10 front and an S20 rear?
I will be running the R10 Front and S20 Rear setup. Reason being that I need a little more front grip than the rear. I push the front a lot while drifting and backing it in and need a little less in the rear to even it up. Before Bridgestone came out with the S20 I was running the R10 front and BT016 rear.

I have not used it in street use. At this point I have not wired it up actually. Since this bike will be used for close course only I will basically using it as a number plate. From what I have read this headlight is not all that great in the brightness category. I tinted the headlight lens blue and it will just be a nice effect while riding demos and competitions at night.

Is it sad that I'm at work today, kinda bored, and I'm waiting for an update to this build? Ha
I had to check in as well... Haha
Hey guys ill be back on it! I had a music video to shoot over the weekend and didn't have any time to update just a little time to build!

The tinted lens turned out great. It looks like a running light now more so than a headlight now.

This is one of the pieces that I am the most pumped about! It will be my idle control on the 09. It goes inline with the TPS sensor and acts as another RPM settable throttle. I run the idle from 2800 to 6000 at times and this is as precise as it gets. Ill add a youtube video down the road of it in action along side the OE throttle.

Along with the Graves accessories and ECU bench kit I also took a solid batch of the newly made pieces to get anodized. All Hard coat black. Sexy.

Here is the first prototype seat that Saddlemen and I have made. Test ride coming this week and if there is still interest from the guys on here it looks like we will be making a Saddlemen FZ09SS (AC) seat. It will not have the numbers on it but will be the same design as the finished product.

Little bomb drop here... First few pictures of the bike in rather completed form when NDC was prototyping the billet freestyle accessories.
