My mechanic just called me he said that gpr dampener went on fine no modifications needed. Now I forgot to ask to make sure he put the tank fairings back. But I will pick the bike up tomorrow and tell you guys how it is. But seems to be a good to go so far.

Super awesome! I'd love a pic or two when you can. Sounds like I'll be sending Revzilla another order for that GPR :)

Thanks for the info and keeping us posted when ya get it back !!

Looks like you have risers on. Just looked at my bike and do not think the GPR will fit with out risers.
Gpr always comes with those mounts. It has to be a tad taller to fit on any bike. I also installed lower bars to compensate. But those mounts come with the gpr . I installed rizoma ma001 bars it's actually lower than stock setup even now.

Can you please describe the install briefly?
I know you had some one do it for you, but was it a straight kind of plug and play or was there any drilling to mount the GPR?

Thanks again for the pics ! Looks like I'm saving sum penny's. On a side note that shop is a effing MESS !

It's a guy that has a shop in his house. Theres like 4 bikes being worked on at that time. It was cleaned by the time I left lol. If you mean the clutter on the self's yeah he has tons of stuff everywhere.

After having the bike and riding it with the gpr. All I have to say is everyone get one. The handling make the bike as responsive as my ducati was. Adds some weight to the steering feels less unstable even when pushing it. I also added lower bars. It drives like a proper sports bike now .

Hi all

sdelcegno bringing a relatively old thread back to life here, but can you tell me how much 'lift' or 'raise' the supplied GPR bar clamps give over the stock bar clamps please?

Am interested in doing this mod but have already bought a set of bar risers but not fitted them yet) so may push them on to get the GPR damper.

Thanks

Steve

Do t quote me, but I think it's only like 1 cm or so, possibly only like 20mm

Anyone tried one of the chinese GPR clones? They got positive reviews from the Tracer / FJ forum; the XSR is a lot more prone to headshake than the Tracer (riding position /extra weight over front?)

EDIT - I'm not sure these would work. there seem to be two types - this one
Steering Damper With Mounting Bracket for Yamaha FZ MT-09 Tracer FJ-09 2015 UK | eBay
which looks like it's designed for the tracer - the Tracer has higher risers, don't think this would fit under bars
and this one
Turning Stabilizer Steering Damper With Bracket FOR YAMAHA MT-09/FZ-09 2014-2016 | eBay
which sits on top of the yokes - but the supplied top yokes don't have the necessary tabs for the instrument cluster.

The first one would work with risers I guess.

Edit 2: tabs are on the bottom yoke, so second one would work if a trifle ugly. Less than a quarter of GPR price though!
