Besides those two little black boxes at the top of the frame near the headstock, the one other item that bothers me on the XSR900 is the silver cover on the right side of the engine. I would think it would be interchangeable with the black piece on the FZ/FJ, which I much prefer, except I could swear I read somewhere that the XSR piece is plastic, and it's plastic for a reason. If memory serves, it has something to do with the new slipper clutch.
Can anyone here shed any light on this? Are the two pieces different, and, if so, how and why are they different? Are they interchangeable? If they can easily be swapped, that's one purely aesthetic modification I would definitely make. I also really like the clear turnsignals used on the bikes in all those First Ride videos from the Canary Islands.
