Looks similar to mine, will be keeping an eye on this as it develops. If this weakens the frame Yamaha will have a very embarrassing widespread recall. On mine it feels like a crack in the mold and the blemish in the frame actually protrudes in the 4 dark spots in the picture and catches my fingernail on it. I always thought the frame looked cheap anyway, the way the just harshly filed off the edges of it in certain spots.

Filed off edges? Man, I inspected the heck out of mine today, and cannot find any portion that is not silky smooth? Where are your filed edges? My frame appears flawless, it is very high quality, not a single mark in it... I'm actually really impressed!

I wonder if Yamaha switched up their casting supplier?

Call me OCD if you want, but that's pretty damn course, even though its not visible at a distance.

Mine is the same up front and so is everyone else with mark by the other bolt. I'm going to go to dealership or have my A&P dye penetrant inspect it, which ever is more convenient sooner.

After sleeping on it, I looked at the bike again. It is all over the frame to varying degrees, especially near the steering head. I'm pretty confident at this point, after seeing how many models are affected that they had to know it was there, inspect it and call it "good".

At first I thought it was only the right half of the frame, but take a look at the left side near the fork mount area it is all over the place.

I'm not worried, but disappointed. Don't look too close, you will regret it. I found similar, although less extreme marks on the crankcase.
