So if he got 53 miles on reserve that would mean almost 1 full gallon for reserve. Total of 219 would come out to 59 miles per gallon including reserve. I'm surprised. That would be great if I could see that kind of mileage.
Thanks.
I don't get anything like that on my gen 1. More like 40 mpg. Are you sure you're not talking kilometers per gallon?

You probably can, if you rode your bike the way he does. Just glancing through some of his videos, it looks like he just cruises around, barely even touching the throttle, and shifts like they recommend in the owner's manual, LOL. His bike also appears to be stock - cruising around on a stock bike at low RPM's will have the FI cutting way back on fuel.

But who knows, maybe he rides like Marc Marquez off camera.

i can confirm that my gen4 SP consumption shows 59 miles per gallon.
6,019 miles on the bike in the year i have had it and that's the regular consumption.
Y'all do have bigger gallons across the pond though. Your 59mpg is 49mpg for us.

It didn't cross my mind until you mentioned it. Maybe the bigger engine gets far better mileage than the old 847cc. Now I'm jealous. When I find a winning lottery ticket laying on the sidewalk, I'll get a newer bike!
Nah, my Gen3 still gets about the same fuel economy as my Gen1 did.
I think the people who say differently haven't owned both bikes.

I don't have a lot of miles on the bike yet. Too many 100*+ days since I got the bike. Once it's broken in, I would be happy to get in the mid to high 40's mpg. I ride mostly back roads in Southern Oregon so I'm thinking that's possible. Time will tell.

Having finally figured out some of the electronics on the bike, I set one trip meter for distance on rides & the other one on miles between fill ups. The last time I filled up I had about 140 on the meter & the bike took about 2 1/2 gallons. Most of my rides are on back roads where 35 to 45 MPH is the average, with a few stretches at highway speeds depending on where I'm going to ride. I have noticed that when I do take it up to highway speeds (55 to 65) for a longer stretch the milage goes down by quite a bit.
Unfortunately, I won't be riding much longer. Winter is just around the corner & when it gets cold "they" put ground up lava on some of the roads around here. So even if the weather is good the roads are not bike friendly. Hopefully it will be a long fall season.

tell They™ that I said stop being ridiculous so you can ride.

My 21 plate is very good on fuel, it’s standard it’s not been flashed, I always fill the bike up while sat on it and keep filling until fuel settles in the neck of the tank, at around 100-110 miles the large segment of the fuel gauge disappears and I’m down to 3 segments, at around 150 -160 miles depending on how I’ve ridden I go onto one flashing segment, I’ve done 20 miles on the flashing segment and it didn’t run out of fuel.

Since we've strayed into "They" territory, track down "They" by Robert Heinlein. It's no easy feat, but well worth the short story read.
Did the hard part for you. Here it is:
I have read a lot of Heinlein over the years & don't recall that one. However, with the amount I read I may have come across it 30 or 40 years ago & don't remember it. I'll check it out.

My head is like a sieve, but every waking moment is a revelation. Sometimes groundhog days but I’m pretty sure I’m waking up still in a rabbit hole. Can’t remember if I jumped in and forgot which colour pill was on offer but these days I feel like a Truman. Am I Batman or is this just bat country. I’ve got to plug this Wikileak before the end of the story man. Oh no I heard a crash in the forest. Every one gets to play king in this new age American dream. No shooting off your portal gun inside everyone will get sucked in. It’s a 4th dimension problem let them deal with it. On Sirius the blue meanies are still at war with their human avatars. Only open on Sunday nights John Malevich simulation theory whatever I can’t keep up it’s the journey internet cat ai 🤖

My sentiments exactly!
