It's an MT09 in Australia found on YouTube...pretty upsetting to watch. GET THEFT INSURANCE!
I don't care what state you live in, you can't get away with shooting an escaping thief. You have to be able to make a credible claim that you were in fear of your life. Any holes you make in the perp had better be from the front.I live in the good ol USA in the south, i can just shoot. lol.
I see the point you are making, but your analysis of the castle doctrine is a bit skewed. Without giving any legal advice, I will say that there are major legal differences between car jacking, home invasion, and motorcycle theft from a driveway. Some states vehicles are considered an extension of your home, those same states have what is known as a castle law which basically means anyone who trespasses and the owner feels threatened by their presence can shoot. Don't have to prove they had a weapon, or that your life was in immediate danger. They were not invited into your home and thus are considered to have malicious intent. It varies greatly from state to state, especially states with duty to retreat laws.
I'm just speakin in general. Not saying you can blow away a thief just because. And it wasn't an analysis, just a broad generalization of the law in response to the differences mentioned between the U.S. And other nations regarding firearms.I see the point you are making, but your analysis of the castle doctrine is a bit skewed. Watch the video of the guy shooting a car thief in Georgia. We were just debating about it at work the other day. Half said the man did not meet the requirement for deadly force, other half said he did. My argument was the owner placed herself in danger, failing to meet her duty to retreat and thereby escalating the situation. The man who pulled his weapon and shot was not aware of the circumstances and discharged a firearm in a busy intersection at the car wash. It's an interesting situation to think on.I don't care what state you live in, you can't get away with shooting an escaping thief. You'd be surprised how low on the priority list a stolen motorcycle is for most police departments. Unless the guy gets picked up on an unrelated offense the bike is likely gone for good after 48 hours. In rare cases they find a big outfit and recover a decent amount of bikes stored somewhere. But typically its too late. Best defense is prevent the bike from being moved, that being said I still use Scorpio Ride on my bikes. Have one one the way for the FZ. Also military and police / fire get a discount if you order direct thru Scorpio. Just call them and they will tell you have to get a discount code for any interested in a GPS alarm solution.park inside, seriously if a thief wants it bad enough its gone, but don't make it easy on them. this guy had his steering locked, so really other than chaining it to something or putting it inside there isn't anymore he could have done. they will catch the sons guy, he took the hoodie hood off and looked right at the camera
Gotta love the lone star state. There are clever ways around it in other states (especially those with stand your ground laws) as the law is up for interpretation. But regardless of you are hit with criminal charges or not, you may still lose your motorcycle even if you prevent the theft. Civil suits are guaranteed and you'd be shocked at some of the rulings regardless of the fact that the person or their family suing were involved in a criminal act. Huge ripple effect caused by discharging a firearm justified or not. Very expensive, and takes a long long time to put behind you. Personally m car and bike aren't worth the trouble. My family however, I wouldn't think twice to pull the trigger if I remotely suspected they were endangered.also I cant speak for all states, but in texas lethal force defending your property on your property is legal. you cant chase him down and shoot him, but if you catch him in the act in your yard you can. to my knowledge its the only state where that is legal.
I live in Georgia and saw the vid 50 times. No charges were filed against the shooter because the cops view it as protecting the life of that dumb ass woman on the hood of the car. Personally...I think the shooter was wreckless and just looking for a reason to use a gun.Watch the video of the guy shooting a car thief in Georgia. LOL! Oh, I was thinking it...32 posts and not a single flame on this guys reverse skills?!
Good to hear! Get those cops some donuts STAT!i would like to point out they caught the guys who did this.
Just buy the Ride system from scorpio. That's going in my FZ the second I get it home. You can later add the traditional alarm system if you want also to the Ride module. Nice thing about it is since its GPS etc it pays for itself thru your insurance discount. The sad part is they get a slap on the wrist and in a few weeks or days, they are back at it again.
Which reminds me, has Scorpio made up a connection kit for the 09 yet????
