So far the tuning fork has released at least two new models for 2014...forecasted to sell very well:
1) FZ-09
2) Star Bolt
Both these motorcycles are aimed specifically at taking a good selling model from a competitor and making it better.
The FZ is aimed directly at the Triumph Street Triple. The Bolt is aimed at the Harley Sportster. Both these models are hugely successful.
In both cases Yamaha has taken their platform, improved it in every way, and then made it cheaper or the same price.
They are coming into the ring swinging hard. I don't think Yamaha would design a motor for just for one model bike...so I wonder which other models will be turning to the triple?
