I do have a question. Is it possible to deform the remote reservoir with a hose clamp that was tightened by a ham-fisted owner?
And what would be the consequences of such deformation?

It's possible, but it would require a hell of a lot of force to tighten it. I'd be surprised if the clamp didn't break first...
