I also swapped the battery (not for weight savings, I have the female 120 lb weight advantage anyway). The lithium battery is a big improvement. The bike roars to a start now. If you are looking to save weight, it's something to consider.

Here's is a Lithium-ion battery that weighs 2.1lbs 300CCA. A bit lighter than the one you got (2.7lbs). https://www.amazon.com/YTZ10S-Lithium-Sealed-Powersports-Battery/dp/B00DCXC9AQ ... for those of you who haven't purchased your lighter battery yet. First two weight loss replacements are exhaust and battery. The stock battery is 7lbs, so there is an easy -5lbs with higher cold cranking amps.

I had taken off my passenger pegs and then I watched a video of how to help a friend who's bike won't start, charge, or has out of gas.

The next month I had a friend who's bike was having a charging issue and it kept dying every 5 minutes during our day trip.

I put them back on right away. No one plans to have battery issues, but I had a charging issue on my 2007 600rr, and then my buddy had the same issue on his 2008 600rr.

Pro Tip: If your bike dies, have your friend go to your side (in your blind spot) and put their foot on your passenger peg and they can push you along. It's tricky at first - but it will get you home or to a shop. You can use the normal foot pegs if you're super careful but it's easier with the passenger pegs.

Also, I tie down my backpack on long trips.

Here's a quick video where they use the foot pegs, but it'd be easier with passenger pegs.

Weight indicators are really important in all areas. Be it the weight of lithium batteries or your own. I began dealing with my appearance and health not so long ago. According to the results of the examination, it turned out that I need to lose quite a lot of weight. In such cases, a full measurement of anthropometric indicators is carried out for the examination. This criterion also includes the percentage of adipose tissue to muscle. To do this, use special professional scales that do all the calculations. If you also want to keep track of your measurements, Vont can help. Personally, it became convenient for me that the scales can also be used to simply weigh objects. How do you like these technologies?

I sometimes wonder why people do the things they do. I love a beautiful, fast bike but I don't race just ride. It is never immaculate but it is always looked after mechanically. I really could care less if the top end is over 150MPH, heck I never get anywhere close to that., just give me great pickup from 20 to 80. You buy a bike and for 2 or 3 years farkle the hell out of it, update the suspension, get it flashed, get the expensive sticky tires....and then what happens? That new model you were reading about is making your mouth water, must have, so you sell your old bike for a huge loss and buy that new one and start the process all over again. Don't misunderstand, I am as guilty as anyone.

Personal weight loss is a great performance mod. If you're on the "generous" side it's easier and cheaper to lose 15kg's off you than off the bike.
You'll never see a "positive body image" on a MotoGP bike.

After several months and lots of tips from the members here I have removed over 20lbs from bike. I'll attach pictures of items removed and will list weight of each if there is any interest. The bike looks great and definitely feels lighter. Fairly low budget. Lithium battery and Akrapovic carbon exhaust were only two changes fairly expensive. The rest were free or low priced.
How about trying carbon wheels,,,,,5 or 6 kilo, rotors to more than 50 prc lost of weight.
Al my screws and spindles, bolts wheel axels are from titanium grade 5

If I knew where to get them and how to do it I'd be saving up coin for titanium. My enabler riding friend keeps showing me carbon fiber wheels. Right now I want to get the ignition switch off but getting to it is way past my skill level until somebody puts up a YouTube video. I am very happy with over 20 lbs net weight removed and I still have both stock mirrors. I actually like the stock mirrors.

I want to lose 20 #s. Did it 2 years ago but gained it back due to going through 3 surgeries in 9 months. Without gastric bypass or another similar weight loss surgery it gets significantly more difficult to lose.

If I can lose 30 #s great, but doubtful, plus none of my older expensive gear will fit!
When I do lose the weight it still will not balance out the weight I've added to the bike for hard luggage, case guards, lighting, wind screens, auxiliary lighting, etc but will get it closer.
