i paid the same amount OTD on may 2014 in Chatsworth California. i could have got it cheaper but i was in a rush and the dealer is down the street from my house, i think you've got a good deal. enjoy it
I got mine technically used, as it was owned by one of the dealer mechanics for about 200 miles. Already had the fly screen on it, hand guards w/ integrated turn signals, fender eliminator w/ flush inlaid brake light and the rear turn signals were discreetly placed in the rear plastics (where is normally says FZ09 on them). Out the door was $8400 approximately.
i'd like to know where you purchase yours in florida, i live in Miami. i did a quote today and they ask me for 9887. (at north miami motorsports)
its just ridiculous... 7990 retail + "get ready guys":
-489 freight
-389 dealer prep/rigging fee
-594 sale tax
-220 title license registration fees
-200 document or administration fee
So the OTD price is 23% more...
Im i the only one or it is way too much compare to the retail price

I don't (constantly) refer to them as "Stealerships" for nothing. We live in a densely populated area, in the Sunbelt no less.....a bunch of scumbags if you ask me.
they offered me a used one with the fender eliminator and 1000 mile for 8249 + tax (556) + registration fee (220) + administration fee (200) they ask me 9229 OTD for a used one...

I just put $200 on a orange 2014 to hold it at New England Cycle Center in CT. They wanted $7990 but I told him I can get a '15 for 7499 at troy city garage in NY. So he immediately brought the price down. Now, after they review my possible trade in (08 CBR600rr) I will see if I can get some money off the fees. Shouldn't be hard to do, I love to haggle.
The Yamaha dealers here all charge extra for Freight, PDI (pre-delivery inspection), some add in an Assembly charge as well. Then there is the unavoidable government taxes, 5% GST (Goods and Services Tax) and $4 per tire for the Tire Recycling Tax. They can sell it cheaper if they like, as the MSRP Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price is not set in stone, it's just what the manufacturer recommends they sell it at. But this usually only happens when bikes aren't selling and they want to clear out inventory that isn't moving.
We do have one Suzuki dealer in town that sells bike for the MSRP or lower, and they do not add freight or any other useless charges to the price. You just have to pay the standard Government taxes. They even gave me a deal on my 2013 DR650SE and sold it for under the MSRP, which I didn't even ask them to do. To bad they are not a Yamaha dealer as well, but they are a great place to buy gear and accessories, lol.
I'm located in Augusta GA. Anybody know of a dealer in Georgia/South Carolina that I can get a deal at? The cheapest I have found so far after checking 4 dealers is $9200 OTD. I would be willing to drive a couple hundred miles if I can save $1000. Gas is dirt cheap right now.
