Hey all!

So I'm trying to take my passenger pegs/brackets off to do some work on them. I can't, however, get the bolts loose for the life of me! Not sure if I'm just really weak, they're just tightened really well, or if they have a sealing material on the threads that have it stuck.

Any suggestions on what I can do?

Socket wrench, allen key bit, cheater pipe
I bet a small impact would work too, it would only bugger the drive on the bolt if the fastener was truly stuck
Heating is a good idea too...use a heat gun or hair dryer

I was going to suggest using a heat gun, but I would say that most folks don't have one. Being an Electrician, it basically one of the tools of the trade for me.

You can get a cheap heat gun at Harbor Freight, don't know if it would be any good. I think there's a coupon in the latest Motorcyclist, the cost after discount is less than $10.

Edit: Yep, just checked it, in the January 2014 issue there's a coupon to get it for $7.99.

I use my heat gun alot, mostly for heat shrink, but also for getting stickers off...actually there are alot of uses. Sometimes a torch is just too aggressive
