P2135 error code; 21 mt09

I have a P2135 code, which is a TPS output voltage deviation error. A/B throttle/peddle sensor.
Anyone have this error, and where on the bike is this located in order to fix, AND how did you go about fixing the part or problem. There was a previous outdated thread on this matter, so I thought Id re post for new feedback. thanks!
I use a throttle lock lever on the throttle grip, would this be causing a code error, in the event that throttle lock is too tight and may not be able to fully close the throttle upon decell...? ty guys...much appreciated help.
Luckily I have a diag scanner and cleared the code so Im now able to cycle engine modes 1-4 and change menu settings.

i would say there is at least a decent chance the throttle lock caused it

see if it comes back
2022 and 2021 models have different tps or some parts on throttle body, you can check on part diagrams and codes. It can be a part/sensor failure. after checking about throttle lock, if the light comes back, ask dealer about it under warranty.
A throttle lock? Surely something that isn't used when mobile?
Its called a go cruise by brand, its a manual way to lock (thumb tightening screw) the throttle when cruising and simply push grib forward to loosen.
the slight issue i have with them is when using the front brake (if the go-cruise is too tight) it may cause friction on the throttle grip, and causes the throttle to not fully close, and be slightly open
What category is the TPS part located in the OEM parts cat...the throttle body?

it should be in intake category

Rather you than me. I'll never use anything that controls throttle movement. I do use one of those devices that the heel of your hand rests on to give a bit more leverage and relax your grip.
That code is specifically for the tps sensor on the throttle body. The bike also uses an accelerator position sensor in the r/h grip assm. I would follow the repair procedure in the service manual to isolate what is setting this code. It basically uses a pair of sensors to cross check-if they don't match it will set this code.

Thanks gbauto! I looked up the part on the OEM book, and it reads roughly 144 US$. does that sound accurate? There are 2 intake categories from the part book, does that mean they are also 2 sensors...so 280$...? Im thinking I wont chase this issue, as my patience and tolerance for this along with the budget I have is just not feasible at this time, added the fact that I wont even know if simply replacing the part will even solve the problem. The light has remained off for roughly 800 miles since last cleared, ill report back if code repeats again.

yes thats a cramp buster, i use that also.
But as mentioned, ive used the throttle lock on my last 6 bikes and never once acquired a code 2135 regarding this tps sensor. Would a previous ECU reflash from the warranty recall, cause this code p2135?

Hey I dont have the service manual, can you possibly send a PDF on that section via direct messsage?
A major appreciation; thanks!!

update...After erasing the code. It stayed clear for roughly 1,000 miles, then came back on, Cleared again. And now pending to see how long it stays cleared.
ALSO....
Would a go cruise throttle lock be pinching the R/H grip assembly, (as mentioned prev.) And would this cause that sensor within the grip to act inappropriately? ( for gbauto)

Sorry, I don't know. But one way to tell is to remove the throttle device and see if the code pops up.
update....it is not the go cruise lock... the EL light now comes on every 30 miles.
symtoms of spuddering throttle response at 3500rpms, or a slight hiccup is noticed at cruising speed.

I just got a check engine light on my 2021 MT09 the other day. Bike is just over one year old, 6200 miles, I’m the original owner. Only aftermarket on the bike is Mivv XM5 exhaust, usb charger wired into extra port behind headlight, and the TST taillight.

CEL came on during a 35 mile commute to work. While at work for 24 hours I ran the bike at idle a few times to see if it would reset, thinking it had something to do with O2 sensor. Next morning I left work with the light still on. After a quick nap at home I went for a ride to the local dealer to see if they could read it for me (my cable and scanner were with a friend out of town for a weekend). When I went to start out on that trip the light was off, all by itself. I went to the dealer anyway to have them check to see what codes were stored. To my surprise the Yamaha dealer didn’t have the 6pin adapter to read my bike, oh well. Rode another hundred or so miles with no light.

Today my scanner and cord came back so I hooked it up to see what we had. It was the same P2135 that you have. So definitely not your cruise lock as I don’t have one.
What is the fix for this? Could it be covered under warranty?

, usb charger wired into extra port behind headlight,
There's an extra port behind the headlight?

Yes, two I think. It’s where you run the power for heated grips if you had them. I wired my Quadlock USB charger to it.

Tell me more about this hidden plug...
