Hi all,
Finally addressing the lackluster stock suspension of my 2017 FZ09. Are these normal prices, and would this be a good choice for 90% street, 1 track day per year riding vs. the Andreani, GP, or K-tech options?

Ohlins STX46 Street Rear Shock $510 from $600 https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/ohlins-stx46-street-rear-shock-yamaha-fz-09-mt-09-fj-09-xsr900
Ohlins NIX30 Street Cartridge $871 from $1,025 https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/ohlins-nix30-street-cartridge-kit-yamaha-fz-09-mt-09-fj-09-xsr900

Would I notice the upgrade from YA-335 to YA-535 as a once per year track day rider?
Thanks for your advice!

A riding buddy and I both bought the same setup. I have a 15 FZ, my friends is a 19 MT. We both got the more expensive rear shock, with remote adjustment and reservoir. I noticed a big improvement, I'm heavier 205 lbs. Neither of us track our bikes, and I ride like the old man I am. The cartridge kit is on sale at Revzilla and that savings could offset the price of the more expensive rear shock. The bike feels much more planted and the ride is greatly improved. I think it is money well spent. Good luck.

Ride sane

Just bought the Ohlins NIX30 Street Cartridge with springs for only $849.80 total, shipped. This is only at BIOHAZARD CYCLES and you only get this price after you place it into the cart, probably because they have some kind of price agreement among the many thousands of 'authorized Ohlins dealers' which is pretty much everyone. The rear Ohlins basic shock, the 335, is available for about $543 now. $1393 is pretty good for Ohlins.

That seems like a good price. Local guy just told me 880 for ktech cartridges and that didn't include springs. Total quote was 1200 including springs and install.
