OEM quickshifter for gen 1

I have a 2014 MT-09, and was looking to install a quickshifter on it. I found a QS+autoblipper from an MT-09 2021 SP, but my local dyno guy says OEM Yamaha QS can't be mapped into gen 1 ECU. Is he right? I thought for sure it was possible..

For the first gen bikes and ECU, you'll need an aftermarket flash and QS sensor for the shift linkage.
Second generation bikes had the QS option, and one can purchase the OEM sensor and enable the feature in the stock ECU.

If you want an auto-blipper for the first gen, you have a couple options.
I personally run the Woolich system with racetools. I think it's fantastic. Has never failed on me, and the racetools package comes with other useful features such as launch control, pit lane speed limiter, and quick warm-up.

The other option is the TransLogic unit, which I have no experience with personally. I believe @Darf uses it and he could chime in.

I've already looked into all the options. But what I'm asking is if I buy the OEM QS sensor used (which is very cheap) and install it, can I flash the bike to enable it on gen 1s? My local dyno/ECU flasher says it can't be done for 2014.

Thanks. Will probably buy Annitori then.
Another thing by the way: Is it plug and play on gen 2 without factory quickshifter? Or do they need flash as well?

That's upshift only. No auto-blipper.

Plug and play.
There's an enabling process for it, shown here:

And again, this is upshift only as well.

So gen 2 can't use gen 3 OEM autoblipper either, even with flash?

Thanks again.

No.
Totally different bike.
The Annitori is a great unit With awesome customer service. I had an issue with mine and after doing a few tests they sent me a new sensor free of charge. But it is only a quick shifter, no auto blip.
