Just found this solo cowl by powerbronze SEAT COWL - YAMAHA MT-09 14/FZ-09 14 - Powerbronze USA I kinda like it.. Need to see other pictures of it but I think it's the cheapest so far.. Anyone deal with this company before?
i like it better than the other one buti can't believe how much these damn things cost for a piece of plastic. how much beer do i have to give someone on here to fab one for cheaper?
completely agree, i don't get the 2 piece belly pans at all. This is the best i've seen so far but "best" is a relative term. I don't get the triangle piece in the front - it kills it for me
These guys have multiple pieces in the works.. A lot of it looks like ermax.. They mention a solo cowl but no pictures yet.. They do have fender and hugger extensions that look pretty good if your lookin for that.. They at least "flow" with the factory parts.. Excellent! Look forward to hearing your thoughts on it and seeing better pictures.. I agree they tried a little to hard on the ermax, it's just not right.
Well, it looks like I will be rounding the edges off of the tabs and putting heat shrink or Plasti-dip on the tabs to protect the seat cover. I will do a DYI as soon as mine arrives
just styling my friend. i got the one from the ebay seller in michigan so it should be here quicker than from the uk. I'll post up pics of it installed. last night i grinded up the pass peg bracket in order to bolt up the rear brake res...painting it now and should be ready by the time the cowl shows up. im just going to duct/electrical tape up the tabs to protect the seat.
On my SV650 for butt and knee variety I'd sit on the passenger seat sometimes. I'm 5'11". Don't know if I'll do that on the 09 yet. Also I sometimes cargo net stuff to the rear seat.
i received mine today, decent quality looks good on the bike. they took the styling from the hugger as it mirrors its look. the tabs are glued on as shown in the pics leading to one thing i didnt like. as i was bending a tab in place as instructed some of the glue failed slightly on one of the tabs. it doesnt affect anything at this point. I would have liked to have seen the tabs riveted on instead of glued though.
They use bendable tabs. I covered them with electrical tape, slightly bent the tabs out, slid it over the seat, and gently bent the tabs down to hold tightly to the seat. The only time I plan on taking it off, is to have it painted.
Here is a picture taken today outside with the cowl on.
