Hi @vcyclenut and others. Good news that you can ship to the UK again, that's given us Brits more options. I'm close to pulling the trigger on your base flash for my MT09 as I'd really like to remove the Euro5 oddities. Also keen to get rid of the lurch in the decel fuelling that has been brought on by Yamahas recall.

My question is, how much does your flash increase fuel consumption? I understand by its very nature its going to make the bike a bit thirstier which isn't a bad thing but how much are we talking roughly? I could live with upto 20% higher consumption but beyond that the pros/cons will start to even out.

Thanks for your input. Also anybody else running David's Flash is welcome to give their feedback regarding fuel economy.

I dont track fuel mileage which each flash, it would add a lot of time to each one and in the end it is what it is. I am not tuning for fuel consumption

saying that with the way I tune and data logging in real conditions and not just dyno tuning my tunes are efficient. its weird but you can actually add fuel sometimes and get better fuel mileage. Lean mixtures are inefficient and leave fuel unburned so fixing that can sometimes result in certain areas where fuel mileage will improve.

in general, most people report back with being surprised how good the fuel economy still is after the flash

Thanks for your reply, sounds like it will be way below my imagined worse case scenario. Do you have a January sale coming up I should wait for? ;)

Anybody else have any real world experience with fuel economy after David's flash?

Been looking at the dyno charts on your homepage and it seems to me that there is not much difference between the exhaust systems. Is mostly about the sound you prefer when choosing one?

there isnt a ton of difference in performance between them but there is some, just depends what your priorities are

Can I find charts on your site?
Ops! Forgot the title of this thread 🤯
I dont have the charts posted, I didnt do the detailed publishing of my testing like I did with the new bike back then and it would be impossible to go back and recreate it

those system perform well , on the older models the performance of all the different systems was even closer than on the new gen

Hey Charlie, how long did it take to ship and return, which company did you use? any issues with customs?

I need to pull mine and ship, just need to find the time...
Hi mate,

It took 8 days to get there, 1 day with David then 8 days to get back.

I used Royal Mail international Tracked which cost £20. It was a bit perilous because that only gives you insurance upto £50 but it is tracked every step of the way so don't see how it can go wrong really. To have £500 insurance with Royal Mail postage would be £60!

When it got to the US the partner company is USPS who have really good tracking on their website. On its way back it goes USPS then handed over to Parcelforce in the UK who again have excellent tracking on their website.

No customs issues at all, David does ask you on his website to clearly mark it as Warranty Return/Repair so don't forget that bit!

When you lift the tank have someone there to help you and make sure you protect the frame with tape because the tank will touch the frame if left unbolted.

Next time I need to lift the tank I'll be doing it with low fuel and just disconnecting it completely. It really doesn't swing out of the way very far.

Where do you mention Warranty repair? on the outside or on the documents inside?
