Hi guys.
I have been ask for this issues once. Few week ago, it hard to start more often. I let it in the garage for 4 5 day with 2 line of fuel on the dash. Basically it start perfectly when i had a cold start. But yesterday, i was fill up the gas tank ( not cross over the hole), it hard to start and stall. I crank it 4 5 time, it wont start. If i start, the engine can not idle and going to die. Today i hit the cold start and it seem like notthing else happen. I took a ride and when i stop to took something to drink, ( engine temp at 105). It cant start again. After alot of time turn the key and kill switch on/off few time, i still cant start. So i put it there and wait for few minute, it start like nothing else happen.
So my question is : is this ECU problem of fuel pump problem? Can anybody help me cuz this is so annoying. My bike is MT09 not FZ09 so i dont have cannister on my bike.

I had this hard start issue especially when stopping at the gaz station. It was my throttle body which was dirty at the bottom of the butterfly. I cleaned up them with a towel soak with break cleaner. Problem went away. I gently push the butterfly with my finger, no need to remove the throttle body. I also had to reset the idle learning system through the dashboard. Half an hour and it's done.

I'm curious to know how you reset the idle learning system. Can you please share the steps. I also have the MT09 (Australian version)

There is a copy of the FZ-09 Service Manual which you can download here: http://www.fz09.org/forum/32-yamaha...ce-manual-pdf-download-link-4.html#post164808

It does list in the manual how to get into the diagnostic mode through the instrument cluster, page 7-12 shows how to get in for the throttle position sensor.

It may or may not work the same on the MT-09???

Service manuel Chapter 9.12 code 67 idle reset, follow written procedure. This should be reset only if the code shown on the dashboard is 02 which was the case for me after cleaning the throttle body.
Notice it's an European bike there could be some differences with other ones.
