Luke, so deeply sad to be reading about this. It was great meeting you in Philly that one day. Keeping you in my thoughts and definitely sending you a little something to help with the burden of medical treatment.

From the link:

"Lucas was involved in a near fatal motorcycle accident on Sunday 4/6/14. Details of the accident are not clear yet but we believe we was hit by another vehicle likely running a stop sign.

Lucas suffered multiple pelvis fractures, a collapsed lung, badly dislocated right knee, torn bladder and also a shattered jaw.

Lucas has undergone several extensive surgeries and will have several more in the near future. Once out of the hospital he will go to a rehab facility to be followed by months if not years of physical therapy to be able to walk again.
He is currently self employed and will not be able to work for the forseeable future.

This fundraiser will be used to help Lucas & Ashley with the enormous medical expenses being incurred, loss of income and future therapy that will be needed.

We greatly appreicate any support!"

This brings up a good opportunity for all of us to raise our uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage to as much as we can afford. It's stupid out there ....

1. Ride like you're invisible - because you are.
2. Assume every cross street has an idiot ready to blow a stop sign.
3. Assume that at every intersection someone will turn left in front of you.
4. Learn and use the SIAAM Technique.

5. All The Gear All The Time (ATGATT).
6. Hi-Viz is better than No-Viz.

After seeing this I just raised mine and it was only 10 bucks more for the year.

Really unfortunate for Luke, best wishes to him.

FJRider......good info but let's NOT turn this thread into a distraction away from the intended purpose. A member of this forum was almost killed while riding and is obviously going to be in need of some help financially.

Anyone and everyone that can contribute towards that purpose, please be as generous as you can.

Thoughts and prayers to Luke and family and wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
