So is the R1 is the MC of choice for most? Anything else needed when swapping besides a brake fluid reservoir and tubing?

Bolt-on's have more impact than you realize:

Wouldn't they all be bolt on?
They will all have slightly different feel at the lever, but they'd all fit.
not all are true bolt ons

You're right- all will probably need a new brake line since radial and axial mc's attach the brake line in different angles.

Marthy has done the only true bolt on, but that wasn't a radial mc. It even had the mirror mount since it was off an fz8. Same as the fz1n for us Aussies.

And i'm just being a bit of a smart arse, i had a gixxer thou MC on my 2005 speed triple back in 06. Actually have 2 spare radial MC's in my garage, but i kinda like the mirrors where they are.

Try to avoid Gsxr 1000 radial MC's. There was a recall done on them just last year if not the year before. They were losing brake pressure.

I have a late R6 radial M/C that will go on when I run out of other mods to do.

Only when they were allowed to go dry over winter storage, seals dried up and shrank a little. Maybe buy them cheap.
