I've mentioned this bike a few times, so thought I'd post some pics.
Started building it in 1999, and keep modifying it for the next 10 years or so.
1988 gsxr 750 frame, 1987 gsxr 1100 motor, bored to 1196cc with JE pistons, 38mm carbs from a 91 750 (i think) 2004 gsxr1000 front end, carrozerria wheels, 1998 R1 seat and subframe, 57 Cadillac brake light lenses, JMC swingarm, yamaha fz6n headlight, carbon fibre carriers for the front rotors and custom made discs, about 185 kgs wet, and 130HP at the wheel.
I broke it and myself quite badly in 2009. I figured showing some pics would help make sense of teh random rubbish i talk about it.

Nice bike, keeping it that long and making it yours is cool. The taillights are of a '59 Cadillac, I have a '57 coupe.

^ Looks even better in this pic. The swingarm and brake discs are outstanding.

That is AWESOME! My biggest motorcycle regret is selling my 86 GSXR750. Still a Suzuki boy thru and thru. Although I am considering painting my Bandit 1250 Blazin' Orange.......
That bike is a work of art to me.

That's kinda what I thought at the time as well. It was 5 1/2 years ago, i still have the airbrushed top of the tank, the brake lights, pillion seat cover and front brake rotors.
and the swingarm is now in a watercooled 1200cc turbo GSXR drag bike.

I cried a little on that crash pic. Reminded me a little of my 88 slingshot.
