Yamaha has to have other bikes in mind for this engine. It just doesn't make good manufacturing sense to put this much money into the development of just one bike. So while I'm dropping off to sleep I'm thinking what would I do with this engine? (There went my good night's sleep while my engineering, gear-head mind spooled up for action.) Triumph made a beautiful adventure bike with their 800 triple. Yamaha could do the same and call it a Tri-nere. Ok, let's make a sport bike version with a full faring, more radical cam and ignition timing. This version should just rip a canyon road apart, be easy to ride fast (embarassing my friends on their 1,000's) and it would be a blast as a track-day bike. Honda has recently gone down the manufacturing practicality path with their latest series of 500's and 700's. It just makes good sense. Standing in the Yamaha parts warehouse with the FZ-09 engine, what would you build?
