Fork tubes, front shocks in the picture are set for a light rider and soft cushy ride. Screw down the adjuster so almost nothing is sticking up before you crash again. Put wire ties on the chrome shock tubes before you ride again, to verify shock travel when riding.
They are brand new forks I bought from Yamaha.
Pretty sure they come out of the box set to full soft, so let’s make sure all of his parts are actually serviceable, and then get everything installed and buttoned up tight before we worry about preload settings. Good advice, but a little premature yet...

No. Don't do this. Set the sag properly for your weight, and use cable ties. Wire will rust and pit the tubes.

Bow ties, Family ties, Mai Ties. You shouldn't use these either.

Most FZ-09 reviews complain about the terrible soft suspension, however their videos and pictures verify that they have the shock settings set to soft. Poor dealer prep, and settings, has riders doing all kinds of modifications and crashing. Just trying to help. No need to crash again. Set to stiff, hard the FZ-09 is quite miserable bumpy on a long highway ride.

Triple clamp confirmed bent. Look at these pics and the difference in distance.

Why are you setting to stiff? What modifications are you refering to? What does that even mean and how does it prevent crashing?
