Yeah I watched part of this race last year. Very crazy race! There is a youtube of this guy crashing last year and he survives somehow. He flew down an enbankment and landed on what looked like rocks! I heard they allow the public to run the course between the practice rounds and the race. Sounds like there is a long list of tourists who choose to run the course and die. I love the sound track on this one.

I looked up some stats about the TT recently and since the race started in the early 1900's until 2013 almost 250 people have died while racing or practicing in the TT. If this were a thousand years ago these guys would be knights of the realm.

It is the motorcycle race of the year, period. Alot of superbike guys just say to hell with that race, almost got it banned back in the 70's. Balls of steel and insanity are required to participate in this race.

I have been over to the U.K. for work, 6 times...only once, was I close to making it over to the Isle of Mann for the TT.

Thankfully, we did do some motorcycling in Wales, after I dialed in a friends carbs, on his Bimota powered by a GSXR 1100.

Big fun, ridding on twisty roads shouldering the hedges.....like riding through a maze.

I would love to see that race before I die. It's one on my bucket list.
completely agree - from what i heard - they have a day when anyone can ride the course at whatever speed - i'm not sure how true that is?

i'd love to go but not sure if you can rent a bike in the UK and take the ferry over? Definitely on my bucket list as well.

Looks like motorcyclist online posted about how to do it at the link below

Edit: look at the bikes you can rent from that place - oooh my i better start saving!

The IOM race is very impressive and scary. Some decades ago a friend of mine went to the IOM. He rode there and had to take a ferry. They put all the motorcycles below decks. As the ferry got ready to dock, all the riders started their machines in anticipation. Most of those bikes were 2-strokes. He said he about suffocated before he was able to get out into fresh air.
