It seems like these raffles are getting popular. We just did a couple raffles to raise money for our race series, we didn't raffle bikes, but leathers and tires and such, but there is a local guy who raffles off groms every couple months. We got to talking about it and it's really a good way to get your asking price or better with no haggling and trying to sell it crap. Both parties win, someone gets a bike for $100 and you get top dollar for the bike. Granted you could also say there are 49 losers, but people love to gamble and I know I've wasted $100 on a lot less respectable endeavors. Hell, I just spent $100 on a bottle of bourbon, granted that was worth every penny and not one of the endeavors I was referencing.
