At the risk of sounding like a complete squid, what does the CP3 stand for on the right side of the engine? I believe that's the oil pump cover.

I thought CP3 was the name of the robot in the first Star Wars.

CP3 means CROSS PLANE THREE.

Cross Plane is crankshaft firing order....3 is number of cylinders.

its been used on even numbered engines for a long time, and its very useful for linear power delivery but this is as far as I know, they first time anyone has used it on a odd numbered engine..and to be quite honest, Im not sure how its even possible for a 3 cylinder to be a cross plane engine...

It's cross plane because the cylinders fire at UNeven intervals.
