I live in NY and the weather has been crappy so no riding for me but i did start my fz and let it warm up.
I believe i let it idle too long as it shut off and the fan was running. The temp was 220 but no warning lights were on.
Is this a normal thing and i now know not to let it idle too long.

I kinda of thought so. With no warning lights on and the fan running i figured it was a built in automatic shut off.

If I remember correctly (don't hold me to the time) it's like 10 minutes.

It should be in the owner's manual. I don't have my US spec 09's manual in the house.
But, the Tenere will shut off if left to idle for 20 minutes.
So will a MT-09, according to that owner's manual.

According to the Yamaha Canada Owner's Manual, the bike shuts off if left idling for 20 minutes.

Lou,

I'm afraid that model has been discontinued....they no longer have that fail-safe if unattended, especially if they have a credit card....

She says I'm an even older model - kick start only.
