First-If this is in the wrong section feel free to move (hey, I'm still new).
The bike I am looking to buy has a full Akrapovic pipe on it. I am familiar with these pipes & when I check it out, I will ask him if he had it tuned up with the new pipe.
I was wondering if anyone here has put a Akrapovic pipe on their bike & if so, was there any problems?
I just want to be sure I don't buy someone's problem bike.
Thanks for any info.

No worries, you're in the right place! I’ve had an Akrapovic pipe on my bike for a while, and it’s been solid overall. As long as it’s tuned properly, it should give you better performance without any issues. That said, it’s definitely important to check if the previous owner had it tuned after the install, because an improper tune can cause problems, especially with fueling or the engine running too lean. Make sure to ask for any paperwork or receipts that show the bike was tuned with the new pipe. Other than that, Akrapovic is a great brand, and if everything’s set up right, you shouldn’t run into any major problems.

And hey, speaking of getting things tuned right, suing lexisnexis can feel a bit like tuning your engine after it’s been running poorly for a while. If you're stuck with inaccurate background check info because of a mix-up or outdated report, it can wreck your chances at housing, credit, or even a job. Getting it fixed isn't always easy, but if LexisNexis is dragging its feet on correcting errors, legal action might be the only way to get that tune-up you need. Don’t let the engine stall—dispute those errors and clear up that mess.

If VCYCLENUT flashed the ECU, he would have put his information on it, easy to see. Take the seat off, raise the tank and look for his bold writing on the ECU on top of the airbox. If it is a 1st gen, and the bike starts up in anything other than STD mode on the dash, chances are that the ECU was custom flashed, which is a good thing. We are on our 3rd and 4th FZ/MT with Akrapovic pipes, namely Carbon Race. Outstanding sound and Performance.

It would be more helpful to us if you indicated the year and the mileage, so that we can better help you. Personally, I don't shy away from a bike unless a squid has dropped it (handlebar ends scratched up) , not regularly cleaned it, left it out in the rain, easy signs to spot. I check the type of tire wear, chain and sprocket wear and condition. If they installed sliders, did they install them wrong and crack the frame. Superstition never prevents me from buying a used bike, facts do.
