I seen talk about adjusting the free play in the throttle but cannot find the thread now. I would like to know the precautions that might come with this adjustment. Mine seems to have nearly 1/2 inch turn before any gas is applied to engine. Looking for the easiest way to do this without doing any harm. Seems like i read that if done to tight might mess with the mapping on what modes it is suppose to be in. Would appreciate any help or advice, Thanks

Bike off, lightly twist the grip, you can feel about how much play you have, also note that how much drag/friction there is as you open the throttle all the way. The adjustor is kind of behind the the top of the headlight. Tighten it enough that you feel that the play is nearly gone.

Signs that it is too tight: when you open the throttle all the way the drag has increased. With the bars turned all the way each way repeat the throttle feel and drag test.

Start the bike, let it warm up a bit, is the idle normal?
