Was your bike the test mule, @kevxtx ?
Not this one, but another manufacture has used my bike to make bolt on 2021 mods which will be launched in the coming weeks, with a few different options of screens & a heap of other mods to bolt on.

holy moly - look at the size of the heat sink on that headlight - wow.
I do not know why Yamaha doesn't 'fix' the fuel gauge issue. It would be trivial for them to program the ECU to interpret the sending unit input on a non-linear scale, so that the gauge is much closer to accurate.
Bike is looking good thus far - nice to hear some solid real-world feedback.

kevxtx, just curious, why did you use the AUX plug and not the dedicated heated grip power plugs?

The whites has a controller built into the left grip which cant be disconnected, I did not see the point of having 2 controllers, also the dash heated controller symbol is small & not that easy to read on the fly.

Installed my 9.5nm YSS linear fork springs today, good bye fork dive from those progressive springs, heavier spring rate, static sag set, will need to dial in the valving. Big thanks to Adam [email protected] for helping me out with the right springs, I stripped my forks last weekend gave him some measurements & got the new set of springs on Thursday. I had to get 2 x 5mm spacers made up as the new springs were 5mm shorter.
NOTE: Sizes in pictures are of the STD progressive spring
YSS spring
OD 1 – 33.5
OD 2 – 36.0
LENGTH – 270 mm
RATE – 9.5 N
*5mm shorter – 2 x 5mm washers around the smaller bottom end of the spacer

Yip it does, more stopping leverage + grippy pads, done this mod to my past 3x 09's.

Waiting on Woolich or FT to get into this ECU 2021 09 ECU until then I will do it the old way. I modified my 2014 Dynojet PCV to fit the 21 09, I had to extend the speed signal wiring by 30cm the PCV works fine, will build some maps soon, 2021 MT09 PCV - YouTube

For the PCV TPS signal wire dont use Dynojets 2021 09 instructions or photo as they are wrong, they say use the white wire pin 3 I used the white wire pin 4 on my 21

I contacted Hell Australia as I wanted Teflon braided brake lines for my 21 09, I got a set custom made, they replace the front rubber to steel to rubber lines, I had them make the pipes directly from the ABS pump steel pipes to brake master cylinder 1290mm long end to end with banjo at master & twist on end at ABS, left caliper to ABS pump steel pipe 1120mm long banjo at caliper & twist on end at ABS & caliper to caliper 530mm end to end banjo to banjo, I did not bother fitting the rear hell lines. Result a much firmer brake feel with less lever travel.

Ends at ABS pipes for master & caliper pipes.

I did not expect that huge difference in airboxes. Will a free flow Dna air filter help ?
I would not waist my money on just the main filter change been there Dynoed that, I have spoken directly with DNA on their stage 2 air box lid for the 2021 09, they have no Dyno tests as yet, not keen to fork out Australian $550 on a untested stage 2 lid mod. Not sure if the stage 3 2014 to 2020 DNA complete air box will fit the 2021 09.
