Pics of the dbkiller I did not find.
Regarding the header desigg I cannot really comment if it would need a retune more than another full system.
I would regardless of exhaust choice get the MT09 tuned.
Maybe @ Vcyclenut can comment as this design seems similar to the spark exhaust.

2 dB killers looks interesting - I wonder what designs they have for them. I couldn't find any pics - did you?

The headers look like they are very long with no balance pipes so the scavenging effect will be very different from stock?

One of the reasons for liking the Leo Vince is that they have emulated Yamaha's short 3-into-1 headers so scavenging will be about the same - seems to be the design that least needs a dyno re-tune, along with the Akra iirc.

if someone gets it and sends me measurements of how long the header tubes are before the collector, I can compare it to all the ones I've tested

i just ordered one today, I’ll measure and let you know. I run a BW on my T7. BW has been fantastic to me from the shipping, to the very professional packaging, to the fitment and durability. Dropped the T7 on the pipe side and had no bending or movement.

And the $700 saved can go into tires and tuning.

BW had my T7 pipe to my door in four days, hoping this on lands quickly too.

Has anyone in the US got their hands on a Spark exhaust for the 3rd gen? For the same reasons as Ratty, im leaning heavily in favor of the Spark, full Ti system. Most exhausts so far are disqualified by looks alone. I really like the look of the Austin SP2R but unfortunately not a full system. I really prefer to go with titanium for weight & looks. I think Spark is the only option then.

Check out Vcycles site, he’s put in a massive amount of dyno work with pipe testing.

I have had a pretty thorough read through his testing & results. I'm very appreciative for his efforts in doing that! I considered the Akra homologated system with the dual canisters and not using the 2nd half. I have a turnout/tip idea that i think would look killer from welded titanium. I don't care for the look of the full Akra system with the 2nd can way out back on the bike. Thats not off the table entirely but I'd really like a full titanium system. I'd consider just getting a titanium header and fabricating the rest myself. I could build the header too but I'd rather not. Not a lot for the 3rd gen out there in that regard unless I missed something.

I’m very happy with my Spark full ti

but in dubai, there aren’t many MT09 that you see on the road and therefore can’t compare exhausts

I am thinking of getting an MT10 and if I do, I would seriously think about putting a spark ti on that as well

I went through vcyclenut website at least 40 times and read each review and dyno charts multiple times - it was very helpful

the arrow would have been my second choice

I’m sure you would be happy with whatever you choose

good luck - safe riding

I spent about a week in Dubai a few years ago and I don't recall seeing many bikes. Do you have any comparison of how loud the Spark Ti is? It looks fantastic but its going to be harder to get in the states.

There are lots of bikes in Dubai, but you would have to go to specific places or meets to see them all in a group

if you are just riding on the road, you won’t see a load of them

Harley’s obviously have their clubs and you see them go outin packs

so the only MT09aftermarket exhaust I have heardis mine. I can say that it is not as loud as the Akraon my mates Streetfighter v4s, butmine does sound much better (even he says so)
The spark is loud but I have been told not as loud as the SC project CRT

I am also now going to get ear plugs for me while riding just in case there is damage to my ears that I am not aware of

Thanks Ratty!

I didn't get a chance to get around much when I was there. I was there for work, im an aircraft mechanic so I spent most of my time at the airport and at the Le Méridien resort. I did see some sweet cars about. I did go to the Burj and the mall which was neat. Brought home some gifts for the family.

I figured that Spark system will be pretty loud being its a race setup. But its the only full titanium they offer. If its quieter than the SC then thats good. I had an Akrapovic carbon on my FZ09 which was perfect. If its anything like that, that would be great.

Black Widow was on point again, pipe landed late yesterday. Beautifully packaged, quality welds, full instructions with all the trimmings.

I‘m thinking on starting with

a single DB killer, the second one gets installed in the muffler inlet, so not a problem to add it later.

I’m hoping to finish work early today and start the installation this afternoon. I’ll post some pics and if I can figure it out without joining any damn hosting sites or god forbid YouTube, a sound/ clip will follow.

Got the system installed and ran the bike for a bit. The head pipe fit great, plenty of sump clearance. The silencer strap was a touch too long, had to trim and drill a new mounting hole In the strap. BW is aware and I’m sure they’re on it.

It looks to me that the secondary DB killer is installed in the inlet to the silencer. I’ve only run the system with the rear DB killer in, it’s loud but controllable. TT loud, and it makes me feel like Hutchinson. Good times.

The low exhaust lean clearance is about an inch inside the peg with the default peg low position, according to my calibrated water-heater box cardboard. I’d imagine Brent and some other fast gents could scrape it, but that’s well above my abilities.

I think it makes the bike look brilliant, changed the vibe entirely. Pics of secondary db.

Hey mate, the exhaust looks really nice. Do you know how loud it is, did BW provide any DB rating? I see on their site they stress it is loud and only for racing.
Here in NZ we are restricted to 100db for an aftermarket exhaust.
Cheers!

Thanks. It’s loud AF. My decibel meter had it at 84-85db on a warm idle with the rear db killer installed. I finally got a bit of time to run the bike on a trip for a two hours straight and damn man when I shutdown and pulled my helmet, it was like listening to a seashell a whoosh. Felt like Townshend after a show.

After installing the 2nd db killer in the front of the silencer, it’s much better. I’ll effort to get you a warm idle db measurement for comparison this weekend. Having both restrictors in the pipe to me is just about perfect, I could take a bit more sound really.

My apologies for the delays in measuring, long work week.

Awesome thanks mate. Hopefully with both DB killers in it will be within our regs, I really like the look of the BW on your bike.
Seems like good value compared to other brands too, and looks nicely made from the pics.
While you are taking db measurements, would you mind taking a reading at 5k rpm?
The test here is max 100db at 5k for the MT09, I have no idea how that compares to stock!
Thanks again.

Where in NZ are you? I've never once had a sound test on any bike I've taken for a WOF in Tauranga, at various places.
I'm in Tauranga too mate. I've never had a problem previously, but the BW website stresses how loud this system is, and how it is not road legal.
If it is not too obnoxiously loud I will prolly grab one.
Cheers!
