Instrument panel won't display

Hello all,

I am brand new member to this forum, and also a new (as of last summer) FZ-09 owner. I recently had to replace a battery in the bike, now the display won't work.

Bike turns over immediately, headlights, turn signals/hazard works. Neutral indicator light and Hi-beam indicator lights both work. The only thing not working is the display panel.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

First thought is check your fuses and make sure you didn't blow a fuse when you replaced your battery?

Via accidentally grounding out a wire while changing battery, it might have happened and you didn't notice it????

If no blown fuses, check all you connectors under the seat, to make sure nothing came loose.

A couple of folks have found the connector to the display were intermittent so check those connectors as well. Especially if you have done anything like turnsignals up front on the bike.

hi, i am facing a similar problem with my yamaha fazer. and i suspect it is the faulty connectors,can you help me know where can i chek if the connectors are connected properly

Mine went out a couple of months ago, Mine did the same as yours. Yamaha replaced under the factory warranty. You will loose your mileage.

That's a surprise; I would have expected that to be stored in the ECU rather than the display.

yep, mileage is stored in the gauge cluster. same as my previous bikes with digital odometers.

just think of it as the same as a mechanical odometer - the mileage is in the gauge itself.
