Sargent Seats is another one. I ordered the Yammy Comfort Seat since it is 1/2 price of the others. Works for me.

I am also considering the Yamaha comfort seat... I just dont really HATE the stock seat, I work at a local Yamaha dealer so I can get it for a pretty good deal with employee pricing. Is it worth it?

Seats are certainly a personal preference...mine came with a Corbin and I hated it. Stock works great for me.

What waynestractor said; seats are a personal preference. Tried stock, corbin, saddleman. All work fine at highway speeds with no windscreen, but quite painful at slower speeds or with windscreen, and especially when braking. I'm gettin' old and achy; prostate, hip.
Stumbled across diymotorcycleseat.com and rebuilt the stock seat foam and recovered with grippy vinyl. Took about 4 full weekends over the winter; figuring it out as I went along. It is by far the ugliest seat I've ever seen. However, it's the most comfortable seat I've ever had. Hey, it's tailored for me. Total material cost was approximately $100, and I've got enough foam and vinyl left to easily do one or two more. If you like to tinker and have the time, I recommend it.

A little more info. Modified the nearly unusable, for me, stock seat on my old Suzuki DL 650. Cut out a narrow channel of foam front to rear of the rider section and reinstalled the stock cover. Transformed it from a 35 mile painful work commuter to an enjoyable 200 mile plus weekend rider. Seat still looks stock. About an hours work. Time and effort to modify your FZ seat depends on exactly what your comfort issues are with it. Good luck.

Try modding the stock seat before you spend hundreds of dollars on something that you might not like any better.

    1. Pull all the staples from the vinyl
    2. Place a patch of foam floor tile (either one thick layer or two thin ones... 1/2" to 3/4" total thickness) in the square indentation in the plastic base.
    3. Re-staple the vinyl. It's not rocket science; just take your time and it will look 100% original.

What this does is eliminate the forward slope, which for many riders is responsible for 95% of the squirming. It also gives you an extra five hundred bucks to play with elsewhere.
