    Engine Warning light on

Hi. I have done a chain cleaning and chain lube excercise. Started bike after lube excercise while on main stand and run in 1st gear at idle speed to ensure proper lubrication. Then engine warning light came on. Switch off and waited for 15 minutes but engine warning lights stays on...??? Is it still save to ride to dealership and why did they light came on...could it because the back wheel was turning and front wheel was stationary and ECU detected a difference in wheel speed rotation. Please help!!!

The engine warning light came on after chain lube done and running bike in 1st gear on main stand at idle speed. Engine warning light lit up and stays on....

I would say it is either something that will clear once you are riding or, if it stays on ride to the dealer and let them sort it out...what year is it and is it under warrenty?

A better question might be...why are you running it in gear while on the stand? Seems unnecessarily dangerous...

The speed sensor and or traction control system is thrown off because the weight of the rear wheel was on a stand vs the ground. You can clear this code with the proper scan tools.

TCS definitely said What? If it doesn't go away after shutting down then restarting, disconnect the battery for 5 minutes then reconnect then test again. Won't hurt anything and it may clear it. I'm not sure how the codes work on this bike yet but it should clear it. Guess I could reproduce the problem and see if this works.
    Hang on... we'll see.

Just ran it on the stand for about 45 seconds. Within the first seconds the TCS (amber) light comes on for a few seconds then turns off then nothing else. No engine light for me. How long did you run that way before the engine light came on?

PS. The TCS disables itself in this situation.
