    Question Flexible clutch cable ???

Is there any clutch cable from another Yamaha model, without the bended steel tube, at the handlebar that will fit the MT09 ?

I have mounted a lower handlebar, but i also want to lower the 'risers' (or what they are called), but then i will run into problems.

Is it possible to bend the tube on the original clutch cable ?

Lower bars ate my clutch cable in 100 miles or so. People used the FJ09 cable but then it was changed I believe. Other people routed the cable in front of the throttle bodies.
This spring Ill reinstall my clip on's and try a FZ1 cable.

    Hi Wayne.

Did the cable snap because you modified the steel tube in the handle bar end ?

Or just because it was not proper aligned..?

clutch cable design from what I've seen between the first and second gen '09's went from ok to wtf? lowest bars you can install on the '09 are the Rizoma drag bar, lower risers will not work due to the tank design and space issue between the left hand control housing and the tank, period! you can install the XSR clubmans onto the '09 using the FJ clutch cable routed via the stock location, I did it on a '17. you can use the stock cable routed via the throttle bodies, ie. #1 & #2 which work with the Rizoma drag bar and Buell clubmans, did that too on my '15. the FJ cable is best for lower bars, Rizoma drag bar and both XSR and Buell clubmans.

I would say alignment as I did not modify anything.
