You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

It is a bit weird, good for gloating too. At least we're not on Neptune, 40 years between seasons. You'd get serious SAD in winter.

72ºF today. I pulled the Z3 Roadster out of the garage for some top down cruising, but we both spent the entire day working on our garden fence in preparation for the growing season. You're right though. It will be nice to gloat for a change. With both of us retired, we'll have plenty of oportunities.

Nice. No growing for us next year, we have to plan the new garden over summer. Not to mention resuscitate the lawn.
But our new location grows avocados. That's a big plus, they're currently $11 each!

$11 - wow! Guacamole must be a premium in Mexican restaurants. I just made a new one that was delicious. Saute a large sliced shallot or small onion. Mash up an avocado with the cooled shallot. Mix in 1\2 cup of unflavored yogurt and season with salt and pepper. Cilantro is optional, but we love the stuff. A bit richer than traditional, but very easy to make.

Run a 220 line underground even if you don't need it yet. Run an ethernet cable out there even if you don't think you'll need it. Wifi can get spotty at longer distances and having a garage computer for video walk throughs and music are important.

Are you in a cold climate? Plan on working in the garage in cold months? Consider a natural gas line for a gas heater. I have two small electric radiant heaters and a kerosene jet heater personally.

I can't recommend these enough for your choice of lighting:

Belt drive garage door openers. Nice and quiet. Mine are internet connected and I can open them by voice using google assistant.

I have a 20'x30' detached garage for a single car, motorcycles and workshop.

I agree with running a cat 6 line out the garage. I would do plumbing as well just to have a slop sink. 220 service is great.

I have a BigMaxx propane heater for the winter and a 2 ton mini split AC unit for the summer. Because of those two things I think a side service door is a must - you don't want all the hot air entering/leaving every time you want to walk into the garage. Planning a bump-out in one corner for a large air compressor is a great idea so you don't lose floor space.

If you think you are going to do a lift plan for that now. I have a quickjack and it is more than enough for all of my car work, I've dropped engines and transmisions out with it no problem and it is thousands cheaper than a normal lift without the posts getting in the way.

My only regret is not going 10' ceilings. I was limited by the town in how high the peak of the roof could be so my ceilings are only 8.5', but that extra would be so nice.

Just a reminder, the OP lives in Georgia. So, gas heaters and stuff, eh...

Anyway, I'm sure he's quite busy, buying and moving into a new home. But it would probably be better to know more about his actual plans for this building before we get too crazy with ideas of what we think he should put into it.

Why don't you go ahead and leave the attitude at the door when you come in here…
