I think most people ride their own ride...either solo or in a group. I think you'll fit in well regardless of pace. Hell, I didn't leave the motel until noon one day...
There is a pace for everyone. Usually go into 2-3 groups riding at different paces.
I'm almost positive you won't see any giant wheelies or major knee dragging
Besides the daily sport tour with four or five other bikes I enjoy the venue, the amazing countryside, the food, the evening drinks, tinkering with the bikes and, most of all, the people.
These are people that arrange the time, transportation, energy and finances to actually live an adventure and not just read about how much fun someone else had.
I have spent my entire life around this type of person and these FZ-09 Rallys have certainly expanded my social circle.
(Full Disclosure: I'm 71 years old and totally capable of operating at the highest level of street stupidity but when I do I'm riding with equally destructive partners and never at this Rally.)
The members of Congress should be required to wear uniforms like the NASCAR drivers.
That way we could identify their corporate sponsors.
Shammy, I was looking at the pics in your photo album - that's why I asked the question. That's some serious knee draggin' you're doing there. Out of my league my man.

As was stated in another post, usually at least a couple or three groups that vary by how you are comfortable riding. There is obviously different wants/needs from this type of gathering....some like to ride 300+ mile days at a brisk pace, some like the sightseeing/relaxed pace component of the event, some like a bit of both. As far as I know, we've never really had any issues accommodating any of the attendees with the type of riding that they want to do. It's a very fun event. And further, some guys just like to venture out on their own and go riding/exploring. You really should make plans to try it, I believe you will be pleasantly surprised....and who knows, you might even have a great time!
