Doug, any ideas for a steering damper? This isn't going to be the easiest bike to put one on. Stoltec is looking into it. For pavement I've only used one on my track SV650, a Scots, like it and seems like it could be the best bet on the 09.

I can honestly say that the suspension is terrible based on my experience. It is not bad, it is terrible. My WR250R with motocross suspension was more predictable. I wanted to put some miles on it before I put the Penske shock on it (tomorrow) for comparison sake. Fork springs are on the way. I will definitely use 10W fork oil. On my CBR954RR, I like my suspension stiff, and on the FZ I cranked down on the preload and rebound, but it feels like a wallowy marshmallow. I absolutely love the razor sharp steering and the ease of which I can instigate tipping it in corners. I, also, know now that this bike is going to need a steering damper. I am accustomed to getting on the gas early on corner exit, and this bike wagged it head is disapproval on several occasions. The least little amount of rider input causes the bike to move around quite a bit.

The motor, the whole reason I bought this bike, is kick ass fun. It had me grinning ear to ear. I was cracking 2nd and 3rd gear wheelies leaving my wife on her R6S in the dust. She said that she had her bike running hard to keep up, but to no avail. She will have to have one now.
The FZ doesn't need a steering damper......put it in "B" mode and don't touch the throttle........you'll be alright!

In a perfect world, I would like a GPR V4, but they would have to make a special frame bracket, which I am sure that they are in no hurry to do. They have already made one for the Honda Grom, but it looks like the entire aftermarket has embraced that overrated moped. It appears that SCOTTS is way behind model releases for street bikes. They will probably have one out in 2 years.

With the pictures on the website, I didn't think I'd like the red... but seeing it in person, and in the sun, the "rapid red" will grow on you rather quickly!
