    First day with the FZ

I've only put about 20 miles on the bike which is a direct result of the thunderstorms that swept through Central VA yesterday, but I have a decent impression of the bike already. The throttle is the most finicky thing I've seen this side of my wife. It isn't a deal breaker, but man, it's close. As mine is a '15, I am under the assumption it has the updated maps from Yamaha. I cannot even begin to imagine how bad the '14 must have been. I'm almost positive this ECU is going for a flash.

The seat is atrocious. 20 minutes and my ass was beginning to speak to me, and I don't mean gas. I ordered a comfort seat before picking the bike up and should have it within the week I hope. If I hope to ride this bike much outside of the Richmond metro area, I'll need something for my fat ass.

    The torque... oh...my...Godzilla.

Welcome and congrats. I have a 15 as well. I flashed my ECU as the throttle response is much better, but there is a slew of things that a flash fixes/adjusts etc... not just throttle response. Do a little research and you will see. Happy riding...

Is your bike stock? How much did a flash cost of you don't mine me asking?
The throttle is a bit jerky from off to on for me especially in a mode. I have a 2015 as well

I second the ECU flash... I just got an exhaust and flash from Vcyclenut. Smoother in every way. On and off throttle isn't as jerky but the throttle ratio he put on my 'A' mode is more responsive. More power with less twist. I also have the '15, all stock except Lextek exhaust.

My bike is not stock, flashes are $200 from vcyclenut and $350 from Ivan. There are a few in between, but these are the main two I would think. Here are the links.

No, the '15 does not have the updated maps - '17+ for all the fixes. Get a flash

Frightening... I need to see which one of the aforementioned tuners I will go with in that case. As I paid cash for the bike, I'm not exactly flush but I can probably loosen up a few hundred from the purse soon.
