    2016 to 2017 FZ-09 Parts fitment?

Hey guys! Just put a deposit down on a Matte Silver 2017 FZ-09. Wondering if any of you know if fitment for parts (i.e. windscreens, exhausts...) will stay standard from the prior year model. I would assume everything would fit the same, but I know they made some pretty major design changes that may throw off windscreen/tail tidy fitment from the PY models.

Looking at the pictures of a 2016 vs 2017, I think the only major changes are bodywork. Which makes me think the headlight mounted windscreens will be different.

For the exhaust, you might have to wait a bit to get the ECU flashed to suit the exhaust. I say that because the ECU flash might be different from the FJ-09 and XSR, since the 2017 comes with the option for a Yamaha plug in quick shift???

Other than that, there are already some sights listing aftermarket parts for the 2017 FZ-09.

Slipper/assist clutch is compatible. ABS and TC are not. Headlight and body work can likely be retrofitted.

after looking at many pics of the 2017, things that have changed: headlights, scoops, seat, tail light, turn signals, exhaust pipe cover and tail rear plastics. read somewhere the seat has changed some, that's why I listed it. until a parts catalog/manual is available, all we can do is speculate...I lean towards most parts being compatible between the year models.

If you don't like the headlight, I'll swap with you and throw in the LED light

I wonder how much the OEM rear mud guard will cost? Looking hard at this ebay one for around $100.

Good points guys. I love the new headlights... About 30% of the reason I decided to drop the extra 1.5-2K on the new model. How bad would it be to throw on an aftermarket exhaust w/o an ECU flash? Definitely getting an aftermarket exhaust, putting on the quickshifter, windscreen, and maybe changing the rearsets for something a little higher. Will have to see if the new shocks are good enough to keep. So excited for this bike.

You might have to wait a bit for a windscreen, the mounting bolt pattern has changed quite a bit.

If you look closely the mounting bolts on the 2016 are outside the ignition switch, while on the 2017 the bolts are more inline with the ignition switch. So the horizontal spacing has decreased quite a bit.

The location of the lowered instrument cluster on the 2017 might also cause interference, with 2016 windscreens???

It might be easier to wait until someone comes out with a 2017 specific windscreen.
