    Agreed, but....
Here in Quebec, Canada, if I were to stop on the side of the road, take the key out of the ignition, and use my phone while still sitting on the bike, I can get a ticket. I have to get off the bike completely to be legal.
On the other hand, if the phone is mounted to the bike, I can even legally use it while riding....Dumb, but that's the law here.
So, using the phone for GPS, I can be stopped & seated and figure out where to go (voice prompts through Cardo while riding) without the risk of getting a ticket.

P.S. Same thing in cars here. Using phone while mounted to dash/windshield is legal...

One thing to keep in mind with anything from RAM, if you buy it off an authorized RAM dealer, you get the RAM lifetime manufacturer's warranty.
Yep...I honestly only ever use the mount if I am on a trip and need GPS...other than that it's in the jacket, etc.

I use my phone for the app warning about speed traps.
It will make a sound and point out exactly where the trap is in a 4 km. radius. Saved me a "few" bucks now and then.
The holder is a bit unhandy but keeps flies, dust and water off the phone.

By the way...the app is called "Fartkontrol.nu"

I use the Rokform mount. It's pricy but it is the least intrusive and is very solid. No vibrations or coming loose.

I wanted one of these but I refuse to use a Samsung or an iPhone. They need to branch out a little

I just picked up a mount from my local shop, made by Mob Armor. Can get them in different colors from their site, revzilla and actually just saw them on walmart.com haha can post pictures once installed. Here is a picture pulled from the web. They have this bar clamp mount as well as magnetic ones

Same here in Alberta, and they even made up a new Law for it, the Distracted Driving Legislation which carries a $287 fine and 3 demerit points.

Here you can use your cell phone or GPS in hands free mode only while driving and the GPS has to be attached to the vehicle.

The sad part is they had to list what you can and cannot do for all the idiots out there.

Here is the list of things you Can Not Do.
    - using hand-held cell phones
    - texting or e-mailing (even when stopped at red lights)
    - using electronic devices like laptop computers, video games, cameras, video entertainment displays and programming portable audio players (e.g., MP3 players)
    - entering information on GPS units
    - reading printed materials in the vehicle
    - writing, printing or sketching
    - personal grooming (brushing and flossing teeth, putting on makeup, curling hair, clipping nails or shaving)

Even with the law, you still see tons of people using their cell phones while driving. Last year they handed out over $8,000,000.00 in Distracted Driver fines which could have easily been in the billions of dollars if they enforced it more.
Ride to work, work to ride.
