How hard was it to install?

I so want to get the blue rear sets for my yellow FZ. So do I have to pull the swingarm bolt to get these on? If I do have to I might need the shop to do it as I only have a rear stand.

 

You may be able to do it a scissor jack on top of the rear tire and raise the rear subframe's weight off the swingarm.

 

They look great but I would be concerned about spare parts and would probably buy a spare set for parts so that when the bike tips over and snaps off a non-folding foot peg I don't have to remove the entire thing and reinstall my stock pegs until I got parts...

Are there any bearings of the lever/pedal pivots or is everything just on bushings?

How much play is in the shifter?

 

No more play in the shifter or brake lever than in the stock units ! Bushings I would say but the same go's with the stock ones and you never hear of anyone needing to replace the stock ones ! The very lowest and forward position is really close to stock and it go's back and up from there..I am also thinking on getting a second set for spare parts at this price.. durability wise I do not see any difference than the name brand ones I have on my 2002 FZ1...

I have never had adjustable pegs - how much and what directions are adjustments are avail on these units ?!?!?

I am wanting to dig into these but I can not right now due to a Broken right wrist.. but everything seems tight and I do not see any long term problems with these.. JMHO..

There are folding pegs out there I just do not know if the bolt size is the same to use them !

is it hard to piece them together without installation instruction??

i wanna sell my woodcraft one since the brake bracket does not clear my Akro pipe, cant install them.

 

Got about 2400 miles on mine with zero issues! Switching from standard shift to GP shift configuration is also fast and easy. Im always sure to maintain it frequent especially after rides through heavy rain (as it should be done with the entire bike anyway).

No instructions... But really not hard to install..

 

just throwing this out there but non folding pegs are dangerous, thats a great way to turn a low side into a high side

 

Will they maintain the factory foot position ?

Do you guys prefer a different foot position then factory - if so - which way do you move them !?!

 

The ones i have are the Sato knockoffs. They're higher and father back. I have mine positioned farthest forward and downward. I like it a lot, they're comfortable enough for commuting and offers a lot of clearance for those tight twisties on Sunday fundays

 

On the first pictures it seems that the switching rod partially covers the hole of the rearset for the swingarm pin.
This seems to be a conflict with my Constands central paddock stand which has a pin that needs to bee inserted into this hole.
Is there someone else who is in the same situation?

 

I seen that also. Would not work with my center lift stand either. :-(.

 

Can anyone please point out the differences between these rearsets (same as Abe's), and the racing rearsets?

I can see that the design is a bit different, but can you spot any functional differences?

 

There might be more differences but the one I can see is that the race ones bolt onto the bottom of the case covers. Also it doesn't look like the race ones come with a brake light spring but I could be wrong.

 

Yes the first one is integrated with the shifter part of the rear set like mine...the other the shifter bolts to the side case as mentioned above..so if you have case savers the second one will most likely not work!

 

Really interested in a set of these in grey. Has anyone purchased a set of grey ones? Or any grey anodized parts from these Chinese sellers? Looking to see how the color looks compared to the silver FZ.

 

Got the grey on my orange niner there darker than the frame. But I found them ok. I'll try to take a pic tomorrow. Here the weather is crap since a week...
