I have installed the lowering kit ( by 20-25mm ) and the bike is now quite upright. I once read that installing the MT-09 side stand will solve the issue as the 09 stand is shorter. I went ahead and ordered a 09 stand and the item looks identical to the one in the 900. Then I checked the parts catalogue and found that the 900 and 09 usues the same side stand with part# 1RC-27311-00. My questions are : 1/. any knows if the 07 stand is shorter ? 07 and 700 share the same part # 1WS-27311-00, 2/. will the 07/700 stand fit onto the 900 ?
I have lowered some old bikes and have adjusted the side stand by taking it to weld shop and having them shorten to my desired height, worked perfect and maintained original strength.........and cheaper than buying a new one.
If it is the same part number, it is the same part, regardless of the bike it is listed for.
There are adjustable sidestands out there and some are pretty trick. My suggestion is to take one of the side stands you have to a welder or machine shop and have them cut a segment out of it and weld it back together.
