    xsr900 hindle or akrapovic

    Hi There.
Have my xsr900 second season and love it.

So i have decided to get aftermarket exhaust for my xsr900(along with some other parts).
I did lots of research and ended up with 2- hindle / akrapovic.
It's a tough decision and maybe some members will give me some reviews/advice.
    I'm planing to spend ~1k.
I know there will be no problem whatsoever with akrapovic , there are lots of reviews and videos.
For hinlde - on the other hand so far I found only one forum thread, and would like to hear more.

    Pluses:
    Hindle:
I'm in Canada (Hindle made in Canada and I get free shipping)
xsr900 with hindle just looks so mean and cool.
There is 300$ price difference (I hope i will get extra 15% disscount on hindle)
    Akrapovic:
No need to tune(I know its better to do to get more , but no need to do it right away)
There are lots of reviews, ready maps there to tune.

    minuses:
    Hindle:
Hindle is still new for xsr and not so many resources
I hear there is some problem in low rpms ?
too loud ? (not really a problem, I still can get a silencer)
I'm not sure if it's safe to ride with hindle without tune?
Are there any maps for hindle? Or it shoudl be custom dyno tuned ?

    akrapovic:
    price
look as not clean as hindle(I just prefer hindle look, but not really a deal breaker I guess? )

    Thanks for the help!!!

I'd go hindle in your situation, 100%

All ecu's needs remapped after full exhaust.

    I'm also in Canada.

Hindle's Carbon Evolution model goes for $975 on their site.
Their low mount Megaphone goes for $800.

As for Akrapovic, you're looking at $1095 for the Carbon, or $1488 for the old Titanium model and $1422 for the new Titanium model.
    Shipping is free...

As mentioned, all aftermarket exhausts should be accompanied by an ECU flash.

Edit: You could also go for a Lextek Carbon exhaust from VcycleNut for approx $1024 with the ECU flash (depending on exchange rate and shipping)...

I see only megaphone for xsr900 and assuming I'll get 15% discount - that's total 800$ with taxes and shipping.
while for akra even with free shipping 1095 +15% (NS) = 1260

That Hindle megaphone is so nice looking. Fits up tight to the frame. Probably very loud. I've always liked the looks of the Akrapovic can and outlook but hate the headers. That huge open spot up front. I guess it's for throwing a can of beenie weenies so they will be hot down the road during a break.

For a short time you will be fine, but the stock ECU runs the air fuel mixture very lean. It needs corrected to a more equalized mixture - Not to lean, not to rich mixture, hence the flash.

I don't think you need a flash for the Akra if using the cat and silencer. Only when you take those off will you need to get it tuned (and even then I think you can get away with it as long as you have a cat).

I have the Hindle, in fact it's my bike that's the model on their website. I have done the graves flash and disabled the AIS using the FTECU bench harness. Also flashed a couple of other bikes with the graves file, one Akra Titanium, one SC Project. Both great looking exhausts, the Hindle is the loudest of the three by some margin. If you're in the GTA I'd be happy to flash yours for you too if you want.

    Thanks John,
    I'm in NS.

The noise level is not bothering me, but looks like I can't ride with hindle without tune ...
And honestly i dont think there is anyone here in my area that can do it ...
