I started by ordering a set of BikeMaster "Torpedo" LED signals, part # 266219, which retail for $26.95/pair. Here they are compared to the Great Pumpkins:

You can see they come with standard bullet connectors. I didn't want to bother with cutting/splicing/soldering of wires, so I took the easy route and got some BikeMaster Yamaha turn signal adapters, #266276 at $9.95/pair. They work great, plug and play...

Then, there's the issue of "rapid flash". You can add some resistors into the signal circuit, but they create heat. So I went with a Rumble Concepts Easy Plug flasher relay for Yamaha, #206756 (from Tucker Rocky distributing) at $29.95. A little pricey, but again, it's literally plug and play. Unplug your stock relay, plug this one in its place, and your signals work perfectly. I believe Tripage from this forum sells an equivalent, though I always try to shop locally when I can. I may be the only one left.

Here are the fronts installed. Hard to tell in the picture, but they are quite bright. I made some little brackets to mount them inside the aluminum headlight carriers. Since I already set a precedent by cutting pieces off my bike for my handlebar install, I was okay cutting off the cast-in loops under the headlight brackets that held the stock signals...

Next, I removed most of the stock rear fender bracketry and plastic parts. That stuff was heavy! I like the small aluminum rear fender, and though I know opinions are mixed, I LIKE THE STOCK TAIL LIGHT! So there.

I fabricated a license plate bracket out of 16ga. steel sheet...

Drilled some holes, welded on a couple of tabs for the turn signals, and painted it...

I ended up relocating the seat lock, using a simple cable that's slightly hidden (Not much under the seat worth stealing anyway), so I made a panel to cover up the holes under the seat and keep water from getting up in there. The panel is a piece of 1/16" aluminum, painted with Rustoleum truck bed liner in a spray can...

Again, the signals are nice and bright, and I think they look good with the stock tail light, which in my humble opinion gives the XSR a signature look.

I left some room above the license plate to add a little LED light to illuminate it, should I ever feel the need to install one. Technically, a license plate light is required in AZ, but I've never had an issue with it after having several bikes without one. If I ever get ticketed for it, I'll just stick one on and show the judge...

So now, my bike looks the way I always knew it could look! Super clean, but still functional, and it's easily identifiable as an XSR. Which is what I wanted all along!
